About the Role

The Denial Coder is a vital role in our Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) process. You’ll analyze and resolve denied claims, ensuring adherence to coding standards and regulatory compliance. This position offers the chance to make a real impact on healthcare financial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Analyze denied claims to identify errors or gaps in coding and documentation.

·         Apply accurate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes, including appropriate modifiers.

·         Prepare and submit appeals with thorough supporting documentation.

·         Collaborate with billing teams, physicians, and insurance representatives to resolve discrepancies.

·         Ensure compliance with HIPAA and payer-specific guidelines.

·         Monitor denial trends and report findings to management for process improvements.

·         Stay updated with coding changes, payer policies, and industry regulations.

Qualifications

·         Education: High school diploma is required; certification such as CPC or CCS is preferred.

·         Experience: 2-3 years in medical coding and denial management.

·         Skills: Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding; familiarity with coding software and EHR systems.

·         Communication: Strong verbal and written skills.

·         Problem Solving: Ability to identify causes of claim denials and recommend effective solutions.
