Key Responsibilities:

 

• Assign accurate codes to medical procedures and diagnoses using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS code sets
• Review medical records to ensure completeness and accuracy of documentation
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to clarify documentation and obtain missing information
• Ensure compliance with coding and billing regulations, including HIPAA, Medicare, and Medicaid guidelines
• Conduct regular audits of medical records and coding practices to identify areas for improvement
• Communicate coding and documentation deficiencies to healthcare providers and provide education on best practices
• Stay up-to-date with coding guidelines and regulatory changes

 

Qualifications:

 

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification from AAPC or CCS certification from AHIMA
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and coding guidelines
• Experience with ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS code sets
• Knowledge of HIPAA, Medicare, and Medicaid guidelines

Education and Experience:
