Unstable angina is a condition the heart does not get
required blood flow and oxygen and it may lead to heart attack. Angina is a
type of chest discomfort which is caused by the poor blood flow through blood
vessels of the heart muscle. Unstable angina is mostly affect patients with
ischemic symptoms suggestive of an ACS and no elevation in trponin, with or
without ECG changes indicative of ischemia.
Symptoms:
- Chest pain
- Patients can also feel pain in other parts like shoulders, back, neck, arms
Prevention:
- Stop smoking
- Do more physical activity
- Maintain healthy weight
- Manage stress (through meditation, stress reduction techniques, etc.)
- Managing high blood pressure
